As an IT Administrator for a company that uses McAfee, i feel a lot better knowing that McAfee is now even stronger as it is backed by Intel.

Some predict that the combination of Intel's hardware and McAfee's antivirus software will bring forth a new race for security that is hardware embedded. This would definitely bring another layer ot protection for devices that is not limited to comptuers but mobile phones, and other internet enabled gadgets as well.

Also, some say that Intel's move to buy McAfee is due to Intel's idea of partnering with the secuirty firm that was among the first to detect and help alleviate the effects of "Operation Aurora".

Operation Aurora is a worldwide incident where massive hacking and intrusion attempts (most said to originate from China) were done against top online services providers like Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, and even antivirus-security vendors.
