This is the reason all the big repair shops will not repair but only do a fresh install. That way you always eliminate a software, virus issues. Also Windows will usually not install or install very slowly on a HDD that has a large number of bad sectors.

Thanks for your tip I will keep that in mind.
In saying that I normal quote to a client that I will attempt to clean a system, then re-install if all else fails, but then you have to look at time management as well.
Maybe I could get some of your great advise and ask for a list of guidance in step by step order for slow computers and computers that keep rebooting at log on, before or after.

P.S Here a quick Question for your all if any one might know, just before the new year I had three computers with vista come in for repair because they all cashed after SP1 was downloaded in the windows updates all had to be re-installed.
