Forget the password to your administrator account often, due to changes or bad memory? Afraid to write it down for security reasons?
Worry no more, you create a password recovery disc which will work no matter how many times you change your password afterwards. A floppy drive or cd burner will be necessary.
In control panel, open the "User Accounts" menu (If it is in category view, you may need to click this option more than once.)
If you are using a limited account select from the left "Prevent A Forgotten Password", if it is an administrator account, select the account and do the same.
Once created save the disc somewhere safe, if you forget your password simply enter an incorrect password a few times and you will be prompted for this disc, once loaded you will be asked for a new password, without needing the old password.
*This will not work after a re-installation of XP.
