Xp needs to restore to factory settings...With restrictions I have an impossible job. I have an xp sp2 that is virused up.. SO bad i cannot even log in. I dont have a Boot disc or recovery disc. I dont have a way to get one. I NEED to Rest this thing to factory settings. I dont care what data i lose. is there a way to do this.... i dont want to throw it away i realy dont wana pay for someone to fix it. The sticky above dose nopt help that is why i post this. remember i cant get passed the log in screen!!!!!!! |

If you have something like a Compaq or Dell mfg within the last 4 years they should have a hidden partition on the drive to restore from. You should see an option early in the boot process prompting you to hit a key (ex. Ctrl+F11 or F10) to restore the computer. The make and model should be listed on the front or back (like Inspiron 520x), unless it's a custom built PC, not from a major manufacturer. |
