windows XP and Vista I installed a dual boot but now I cannot use XP, I used EasyBCD to try to repair but it did not work, I seem to be missing the NTLDR or it became corrupt when I went and got the three files including NTLDR and did an attrib I find even if I unhide using the -s -r -h format I cannot port over the corrupt NTLDR can anyone help, I sure could use my copy of xp as an afterthough I cannot use the windows xp to get to the c drive but I can see all my files thanks for any help SkipD |
Re: Let me know what happens after this: 1) open a command prompt with administrative privilages (right-click and choose "run as administrator") 2) type: bcdedit Now look for under WINDOWS LEGACY OS LOADER. It must resemble like this. identifier : {ntldr} device : partition=C: [note: C: drive which contains the Master boot record] path : \ntldr If it is not let me know what comes there. If posssible mail me the entire output of bcdedit -saumitra PS: I have both of them running, but i have done so manually using William Wilson's method. |
