Windows Setup Problem

I have a laptop and i need to install windows xp from harddisk via usb. My cdrom have problem. I copy windows to external harddisk. But when from bios i setup up the external harddisk to boot. I get the message NTLDR is missing. How i can install windows from external harddrive?

Are you sure your motherboard supports usb booting? There is always:

as an option
