windows me

Have a comp with windows me home edition.....after trying to hookup to my internet provider, comp suddenly stopped and said I must re-install windows....reset comp and that's all that appears, won't let me do anything except turn off comp I DON'T HAVE ORIGINAL SOFTWARE DISCS since this is a used comp.... HELP!
