Wanting to get files from broken Toshiba Sat. 4060xcdt Hi there, I have a Toshiba Satellite 4060xcdt laptop. Unfortunately I haven't been able to use it or start it up for a while now. I have a brand new laptop so there's really need for me to try and get the Toshiba one fixed, if that's even possible. But I desperately want the files that were on the computer and I'm more than sure they should still be on the hard drive. I'm wondering how I would get those files and be able to transfer them onto my new laptop? I've heard of usb hard drive hubs? I'm not sure exactly how they work and if you need a specific type for such an old laptop hard drive? Thanks so much and hope I didn't make too much of a fool of myself. |
first get the hard disk of your old laptop and you can use external 2.5"enclosure to get your data from your old laptop. or you can use 44 pins to 40 pins converter and slave it to desktop computer and transfer it to your new laptop via flash drive. |
So? ??? Hey, Saw ur post. Dont worry, you did not make a fool of u. So did you try the 2.5" hub? and did it work? Pls let me know. |
That is not a hub, its 2.5" hard disk enclosure where you put the 2.5" hard disk then plug it where you want laptop or desktop. its 100% working. check it first if your hard disk is IDE or SATA if you decide to buy enclosure it is very affordable. |
