Default Viruses

Can anyone help me please??
Somebody sent me a virus/s and now can't get rid of them.
I have one that keeps trying to make Resgistry Changes, one called AbsoluteKey, another called Trojan Downloader.XS, amongst many others.
I have scanned my pc several times with McAffee, downloaded Adware Spyware, they keep telling me these virused are quaranteened but then I get a load more keep popping up!!
Have had to disconnect me pc from the internet so don't get anymore, and someone else has told me to do a system restore, which have tried to do several times, and it won't restore. Someobody else told me that as I am using IE v7 that the only way to get rid of them is by restoring to Factory Settings, but don't know how to do that!!!
Any advice you could offer me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

First turn off System Restore, right mouse click on the My Computer icon / select Properties / select System Restore and put a tick in Turn off System Restore on all drives.

Restart your computer and tap the F8 key to get into Safe Mode, then run your AV and malware programmes. When its finished restart your computer.

Once started in normal mode run the AV programme again to double check. If all clear restart System Restore...

Default Re: your virus...

you should also Remove all nonessential items from MSCONFIG start menu.. Go to Start/ Run.... type : msconfig, hit enter... then click on the Startup Tab... in there either remove all or .. remove the ones not needed.. then press Apply and reboot... Don't worry, If something doesnt work right that you need to, just go back thru msconfig and recheck that item, reboot and you're good to go.. this will help speed up your PC..Not to mention if the virus/spyware added programs to run on your PC.. this will stop em..ALso a good idea to Wipe your temp FILES CLEAN.. Make sure in your File settings.. you have enabled... SHow hidden files and folders..then go to My Computer/-C Drive (or your main drive)/-, Documents and settings-User Folder(your My Documents)/- then Local Settings .. IN there there will be 3 folders.. 1) TEMP 2) HISTORY 3) TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES.. Delete all files in these folders.. Then go to your Windows Folder.. open the TEMP folder and remove everything.. then again in the Windows folder, open the PREFETCH folder.. remove all in there too.... that should clean up your sys alot and SPEED you up immensley!! Good luck CHeers!
