video media from xp to Vista
 

I sucessfully ripped home vids from our old pc which is running xp to my laptop which is running vista. When I open the disc on the laptop all i see are 6 icons; CDI,EXT,MPEGAV,PICTURES,and VCD. I opened the MPEGAV folder and it had icons of all the videos but Windows Vista Media Player can't play the files. Can I convert these files somehow?
