USB 1.1 support in DOS Anyone know how to get USB 1.1 to work in DOS?? I have a Panisonic toughbook CF-71 pentium II and I would like to get it recognize the USB port in DOS and boot from the USB CD Rom. Thanks THen |
there was a driver floating around to do such a thing, but it was unreliable at best. Your best bet would be to check your bios and see if it supports direct booting, and add usb into your boot order above hard drive. |

have tried the driver that is floating around and it hangs lunching the USB port. |
sorry to say but it sounds like you are out of luck with this method. What exactly are you trying to do? Maybe there is something else you haven't thought of. |
I was trying to boot a panisonic toughbook to a USB CD rom, so I could install Win2K without jumping through a lot hoops. I got it installed, but it was pain in the #*#*#. I had to barrow a laptop from a friend change hard drives copy win98 cab files switch HDDs back install win98 and then upgrade to win2K. I would still like to boot to the USB CD rom but am resigned to it won't work. If it crashes again I won't have such a hard time again I ghosted the laptop on a small partion and all I need to do is boot to ghost off a floppy and run ghost and in stall Win2K again THen |
