Update install problem Through Auto Update I have 3 files on my computer that absolutely will not install. I've downloaded Windows Installer 3.1 and 2.0 and still when I click on the icon in the notification area it tries to insrall them but fails every time(I've tried many many times). When I turn off my computer I see the symbol(next to the Turn Off symbol) indicating there are files to install and when I choose Turn Off I can see the computer trying to install the updates but each ine fails to install. This has been going on for weeks. Does anyone have an idea? Many thanks Jack Manger [email protected] |
Hi, Did you try Windows Update (or Microsoft Update I think it is called now) through their website? If you try that. But if that doesn't help Start > Run and type %WINDIR%\WINDOWNUPDATE.LOG and hit ok. Then the log is going to open and look for the errorcode should be something like 0x00000000 then try doing a google search on that error code. |
