Unable to restore Internet Connection I am working off of a desktop with a D-Link N Wireless card in an E-Machine. I am connected to a D-Link N Wireless Router. I have had no issues for almost a year. I found that the wireless link was lost. I restored the link. Then I could connect to it via laptop and get on the net but could not get on the net using the desktop. I looked at the network connections which indicated good connection on the wireless link, but..... The internet concection was disabled. I tried to re-enable it, but it would not work. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated. |
I have found that D-Link routers have a habit of self abuse. Some how they overheat or fill buffers which should never happen. Try reseting it (leaving it off for about 10s) and see if it helps. Did you install any applications or visit any new websites recently before this problem? |
Have you tried releasing and renewing ip config? |
May not help at all, but I had a Tablet PC that wouldn't browse a network earlier, it would connect but it wouldn't get a valid IP address. I just deleted all the wireless networks it knew (including the Keys it had stored), reconnected to the network with the key then it picked up the IP fine and all was well. |
