After re-installing windows XP Pro, I am unable to hear sound when playing videos such as you tube and google videos. I could hear music so the speakers are fine.

First thing I would try is making sure you have the latest Flash player.

Also be sure something else isn't requiring the sound card. Some programs will conflict with if they both want control of the device. (ie. Windows Media player, Winamp etc.)
