Tired of MS Games...any new ones to suggest? I am tired of the games that come with XP. I like one person games. I like what XP includes...but I am looking for some more variety. I also have MahJong and it is great...but it is getting worn around the edges too... Something simple and entertaining...not tetris...boring! Suggestions? |
Shockwave Hello Al, have you tried shockwave games? There's plenty of one players but some you may well have to pay the ones that you download, here is the link to playing their free online games: Free Online Games - Fun Online Games, Play Online Games from Shockwave Regards Martin |
Offline games only please Martin: thanks for going out of your way to respond. No, I am not interested in online games...I deleted XP's onliners. I am too security conscious. From what I have read on the various security site, and I therefore am made to be biased here, is that game sites, and screensaver sites are notorious for picking up viri ! I'm just an old, cantankerous senior who likes to play slow, thinking games. Now, XP has FreeCell, Hearts and Spider, and I like those...and I added an excellent version of MahJong ...those are my speed, but they are "worn out" as far as my head is concerned. Poker does not interest me either. Tetrus bores me...I like to think not race through a game. I am just too hard to please. Does Vista have any games that can be scooped and played in XP? I haven't a clue what is there, but maybe someone can send me copies of any new games if there are some there, and then I can check them out. I noticed over at the following url, that Vista has updated versions of those XP games...how does one get hold of the newer versions withoug having to have Vista...and would they work in Vista? http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...2f0da1033.mspx ...Al |
vista games? most of the games that come preloaded on vista you have to purchase after playing them with "game coins", they really dont have any new games. |
Found... I did a google search for "Vista games download" and was able to get all that were available in the Vista Program. I have yet to play them, but they are set up and awaiting a christening. Windows Vista Games for XP *Update* « Jonathan’s Shrine REPORTING BACK: Well, I've tried most of the games for Vista...the "newer versions' of the XP lot only, and I must say, I AM NOT IMPRESSED by the graphics, or the speed. The XP games are cleaner, and sharper in appearance, and much faster. It appears that Vista is too hung up on trying to make it all look comfy, cosy ...marshmallowy...as opposed to sharp and streamlined...but that's just my opinion. |
U may want to try some freeware games out there Freewaregames.net is a good example of a site that has a ton of offline/online games :) |
Caution... Thanks for taking the time to respond. I'm familiar with most game sites...many are associated with malware, especially those that peddle the screen saver animations. Download at your own risk. Rather than just going to a site, blindly, I'd prefer a direct reference from someone who has tried both a site and a game from that site. |
Just remembered this site NoNAGS I used to use it a lot. Lots of choice software there :) And as the name implies, no nag screens :) Have fun |
Been there... NoNags has been on line for ever! I've not found any games better then those with Windows XP...and I've tried many. |
