Systemax 223II0 won't load

I have a Systemax 223II0 and the hard drive will not stay on long enough for me to format drive and load Windows XP Pro. at first i was getting an error message about loading the operating system; now it just start and stop in the middle of loading. i really don't want to buy a new hard drive unless i have no choice.
