An application usually spread itself in different places to be able to run at the startup. You even had to check the registry and the Start Menu to look for it. With Windows Vista, you can access those files in only one place, a built in panel. To get to this panel, go to the Control Panel in Start then enter startup in the Search box. A link to Stop a program from running at startup appears. You can either remove or disable any startup item from this panel, along with a lot of useful information about the items. You can also access this using the Windows Defender but that’s another story.
