Could Anyone PLEASE Help.. Thank You |
This is caused because of an incomplete removal of the W32.KWBot.C.Worm virus from your computer. Here is Microsoft Knowledge Base article to fix this problem. You receive a "Cannot find C:\Windows\System32\System32.exe" warning message when you start Windows XP - Article 833767 |
A cheap way around this (not efficient) is to simply add a useless file with notepad or some other basic program called System32.exe in the specified folder. This error occurs when a few viruses which have attatched themselves to your startup in a hidden manor are trying to load and the infections have been removed. A more proper removal can be done in the registry, under the path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run registry subkey or something similar (this is what was the path on my roomates comp) and delete any key named: Explorer.exe C:\Windows\system32\system32.exe or cmd.exe or cmd32.exe this should remove the call to launch this file. |
