Default Start Menu

Hello All,
I am trying to install a small app in Windows7.
But in order to do this the app needs to be
directly copied to the startup folder.
Could you tell how to do this please.

RalphG

Sorry ment to place this in software section

Hi Ralphy,

Try this:

Click the Windows 7 Start button, Click All Programs, Right-click on Startup folder

  • Select Open All Users if you want to create a startup program that will affect all users on the computer
  • Select Open only if you want to create a startup program that will be specific only to the user profile that you are currently using.

Then, copy a shortcut of the program that you want to run on startup to the folder
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

If you want to set different startup programs per user, navigate to the folder
C:\Users\XYZ\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

*where XYZ is the username of each user account on that computer

Thanks
I really could not Figure out how to do this.
I never had any reason to get into startup.
But now that I know how, I see how I
could use this for other things.

RalphyG.
