the sound has stopped working on my laptop

its an asus N50v that has a realtek hd sound device.
it locked up cause of the vista transformation pack and then i uninstalled it and now my sound dosent work. i have made sure its not muted and re-installed my drivers but it dosent help.

anything else i can try?

What does the audio adapter look like in the device manage?

Are there yellow ? marks or red X

Does it show that it is enabled and working properly or is there an error message?
