sharing with wireless
 

Hi. I've got 2 things.
1.
I've got a dell desktop downstairs, it is not wireless but is connected to a wireless router. The laptop upstairs is wireless.

Using my wireless laptop, I want to access my picture and document files on the downstairs desktop. I've been trying to do this on my own but I need help.

I moved the files I want to acces into <Shared Files> on the desktop, but I just can't figure out what to do next. I tried following the instructions but it's just not happening. Can someone give me a good step-by-step?

2.

Whenever I try to us the cd-rom in the desktop I get an error message that the drive can't be found. HOWEVER, it plays music cds. Can you help with that too?

What operating systems are installed on the machines? Do they belong to the same workgroup? Do you know the IP-adresses of the machines (the Dell desktop in particular) - if not: type ipconfig in a dos-window...

As for your CD-prob:
I guess it could mean that the cable connecting the drive to your soundcard is OK, but the IDE-cable is faulty / not properly connected...
