Set Vista as default OS after XP Hello, I had Vista and XP on my laptop with Vista as the default OS. Then (only God knows why) In the Vista system folder I changed XP to be the default OS. When I started my laptop I used to get the option to select what OS to launch, now I see XP as the only choice. How do I fix this? Vista is still on my computer. How do i revert to what I had before? My computer skill is about medium. Thanks in advance |
Download EasyBCD 1.7 from Download EasyBCD 1.7 - NeoSmart Technologies and install it. It's freeware. Press the button "Add/Remove entries" and the "Windows" tab. See if the two systems are displayed. If both are, you can define Vista in the "Add an entry" below. After clicking on "add Entry", don't forget to click on "Save". |
Try Vista Boot Pro. (work on XP too) VistaBootPRO - Go PRO with Microsoft Windows Vista Boot Manager |
FYI, EasyBCD and VistaBootPro were written by the same man. He quit the company who owns VistaBootPro because he felt he had been swindled (cf. http://pronetworks.wordpress.com/200...vistabootpro/) and created EasyBCD. That's why I use EasyBCD 1.7. |
