Default Scam website won't open

Hi There,

I was recently ripped off by a HYIP. Their website is showing LOCKED when I did a whois search. However, when I tried to access the site using the IP address, it takes me to a redirect Security Authorization page then times out. Is there a way to get into these scammers' site to get back my money?

Thanks in advance.

Getting into the site will not get back your money.

If you used a Credit Card then contact the company that issued the card and report it as a scam and they will back charge the cost and put it back to your records....it may take up to 90 days for this to happen though.

If you used a debit card.....you might be out of luck....as most banks will not allow the tracing of debit card scams.....but if it was used as the logo credit card...such as mastercard or even visa....then there is a little light at the end of the tunnel!

Either way you must contact the issuing (credit/debit card) company and see what they require for you to do to get your money back. In most cases you can send a written notification of the loss and not pay the charge...you must pay the other charges on your bill though!

You can write the BBB and file a complaint and see if that gets you some satisfaction!

If paid through ebay and/ or Amazon for murchandise....each has their own rules for getting refunds back to dissatisfied customers..

When a site has been "locked" it usually a good sign that the host for the domain has shut it down for illegal activities. Besure to report this to your local Police Department also....more and more local police are going after these people as well as the FBI.....there are no borders on the web!

It goes to never buy anything from anyone unless you KNOW whom you are buying from. Even then you should perform a deep search for any reports of misconduct or bad reputations and the likes!

Good Luck!
