save the drivers on my Dell computer

I want to save the drivers on my Dell computer as I upgraded to XPpro and the driver disk I have will not work on the computer. I have driver detective, but that cost about $40 every two years and I know there is a way to download the drivers on to a disk of all the hardware I am now using on a Dell computer. If anyone knows how this is done please let me know.
