Problem in installing Win XP with Win Vista SP1 I bought Compaq Presario Notebook of model CQ40-145TU in which Win Vista SP1(32-bit) is already installed. Now i like to install Win XP as secondary OS. As you mentioned i created one partition from c drive where the vista is installed and after booting when i tried to install XP, my laptop shows system crash message with blue screen and then i was not able to install Win XP. whether i need to install Win XP with any service pack or is there any possible ways to install Win XP as secondary OS with dual booting? So plz give me a soln regarding this. |
before trying to install the XP operating system.....you must first try to find all the compatable drivers installed on that laptop for XP. This might be a problem. without having the correct drivers...xp maynot be able to install. One other option is to try a a third party boot manager application such as GAG (google for it) and install it first then reboot and install XP as if it was the only operating system being installed. |
Lurkswithin probably has the best idea if you are recieving errors. You need to be careful when partitioning a drive. What application did you use to partition it? Should you get your vista working again, http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-vis...eady-1946.html may be helpful. |
