Default Pop Up Ads

I wonder if anyone can help me? Due to my own stupidity, I've managed to infect my laptop with some kind of adware, which is driving me nuts! Ad Aware found trojan vundo, which I think I managed to get rid of as well as trojan guarder, which I think I also managed to remove, but the problem has not gone! I'm also having problems with my keyboard, which started at the same time as the pop ups (though I've never heard of these things being linked before!)

I used the 'hijack this' software, which was recommened here and got the following:

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.0 (BETA)
Scan saved at 00:13:06, on 04/10/2008
Platform: Windows Vista (WinNT 6.00.1904)
Boot mode: Normal

Running processes:
..............

Sadly, I have little idea what any of this means!

I'm running Vista, IE7 (for my sins) and have Norton Internet Secuity running (which, along with the Windows Defender, cannot find any malicious software). Can anyone please help?

must have more info as to what pop-ups are saying EXACTLY or if they are pointing to a website or what ever they are doing!

Are yousure that you got rid of the trojans?

The pop ups are pointing me towards a variety of websites, some of which the Norton flags as a threat, some of which are naughty, some of which are dating and some of which are even legitimate sites!

I don't know if I got rid of them properly, but none of the detection tools I've downloaded can find them now.

I have since used Spy-bot, which found a virtumonde trojan, but I've tried to remove it three times and it keeps returning to the registry after I've allegedly removed it!

You need to run spybot from SafeMode. It will then be able to remove the trojan.

Some of these pop-ups use a service that controls them and is not found by conventual means. Determining what the pop-ups say and where they send you for a fix helps which service must be stopped in order to stop the pop-ups.

Also turn off system restore, these can hide in restore files.

Click -Windows Icon (bottom left)-Computer-System Properties (top bar next to views)-System Protection from left pane
Then uncheck any checked boxes. This will disable system restore for that drive and delete the restore file.

Don't forget to re-check the box(s) after removing malware/virus.
