Default New Computer Randomly Reboots

I have just recently built 2 new computers, same exact components about a month ago. One of them works great, the other restarts randomly usually when installing something. The windows error files are mini.dmp and sysdata.xml and when I send the error report it tells me thats its a hardware error with either : CPU, Motherboard, RAM, or Power Supply. I have replaced all and still have the random restarts. I have run memtest86 with no errors. I've recently taken it somewhere to do a hardware diagnostics test and they've had it on for 5 days without any restarts under 100% stress loads. The only differences I can think of is that they have it connected to a different monitor and its via VGA as opposed to digital like I've had it every time. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I haven't heard of a monitor causing that problem, but it is always possible it is shorting something. RAM is usually your prime suspect in restarts, especially if it appears to be hardware related. What are the specs of the computer? It may shed some light on what went wrong, sometimes there are imperfections in motherboards which do not allow all 3 dim slots to be used.

I have had clients who experienced such phenomenons (LOL) with their computers. There were 2 recent cases where the desktop machines reboot a few mins after they are up and running. You could also take to account there two possibilities :

1. Motherboard chipset drivers are either not installed or not updated.
2. Cooling systems are not enough or processors are defective

With the #2, usually we take the computer for a break-in and leave it on for a few days to test if it is working properly.

It just occurred to me.
I had a computer which exhibited similar problems due to the bus settings. Have you set them up manually (flipped the little switches) or is it set to auto? Also be sure that the 2 mobos are the same version number, in the case i came up with the versions changed slightly, but one of the big changes was in the combination of switches, thus following an older guide messed it up.

I'm pretty sure they're just set to auto. Where are the bus settings and what do they control. Are these in the bios or on the actual motherboard?

I have replaced the motherboard twice, the second time with a different brand. This worked for about 5 days, but it just restarted actually. THe only thing in the whole computer I haven't replaced (other than cd drives and such) is the graphics card. Most people say I should get a blue error screen if its a video card problem. Any other ideas?

you should get a blue screen, but if the card is shorting and not just malfunctioning it can cause restarts, any surge of power has that ability to send the kill signal to the motherboard, give it a try, after all you've tried it would be a shame not to try it, lol.

Default system restarts

Did you ever find the answer to your problem? I built the exact same system and am having the exact same problem. Ive spent money on techs who told me they have no clue whats wrong and have been dealing with this issue since mid January. I still have this nice looking paperwieght, and need any help i can get to fix this issue.
