I have a game called Loader Larry on a floppy disk. I found out how I can run it from the command prompt but the scores do not show up. Is their a way to fix this? Would it be best to take the MS-DOS boot disk from the download section and put it on a disk then run the game from MS-DOS? If you have any ideas tell me I am open to any free solution.

Use some burning software like nero or ISOMagic, create a new partition on your drive, and boot from your new DOS 7.10 CD and install it on your new partition.

You can find some useful add-ons like NTFS support so that you can use it to read NTFS partitions, but remember that your new partition must be FAT16\32 for DOS to work.

When you've finished, you'll have a dual boot environment and you can choose when you want to run DOS each time you start your PC.

VmWare It's Commercial But arguably the best PC Emulator
VirtualBox OpenSource Project - Seems very nice alternative to VmWare
DosBox Not a PC Emulator, but a DOS emulation layer, plenty of ppl use this alternative.

Personally I prefer VmWare/VirtualBox. Cuz I like to play with linux also. so having the capability of loading a different OS in an emulated PC works great for me.

for VmWare/VirtualBox u will need the OS installation disks/cds. Install yer OS, than install the game. Mind u, u will lose a lot of speed for the emulation. However u are running DOS, and DOS proggies dun need the high end power of today's systems.

I wud opt with a pc emulator.
VmWare - It's Commercial, but it's good.
VirtualBox - It's OpenSource, not as many features as VmWare, but overall it gets the job done.

Another Option:
DosBox - Quite a number of ppl use this to use the old dos proggies. But some dun work.

With a PC Emulator, U will need the installation disk/cd/dvd to install the OS on the emulated PC. U can run different OS's within the Windows Environment. I have used them with MsDos/Linux/XP as a guest OS.
