Are most laptops ok to be plugged into generators? I've heard that some need to run through inverters???

it would depend on the make/country of the laptop and the output of the generator.

Why use a inverter than?

A friend of mine actually told me some laptops reuire you to have a inverter if you want to connect it to the generator.
