lost my cdr/rw & dvd drive
 

:confused: My system no longer reads my cd or dvd internal drive someone told me i probably got a virus what can i do??

check your hardware profile:
right click my computer
properties
hardware tab
device manager

see if your drives are being displayed here, if so, then it is likely a virus conflicting with a driver.

Uninstall the drives then reboot. Windows should detect the drives and install them. If it doesn't find them, double-check that the drives cables are all connected right and their master/slave settings are correct. After that windows still can't find them then the drives could be dead. You may want to try them in another computer too.
