Live Writer in Add/Remove but w/o short cut on Desk Top

Opened the add/remove window and got 'support info' that said click 'Repair' to install Live Writer.
This function is offered if the Live Writer is NOT functioning properly.
Clicked the 'Repair' button and it activated but left no short cut on desk top.
Could it be this Live Writer is not tested functionally ?
And therefore a non-savvy man like me should leave it alone.

I would have chosen remove, then re install.
Also not all programs put a shorcut on the desktop by default. Look in the programs list from the start menu for Windows Live applications.

If you want a shortcut on your desktop then go to programs and right click on the program. In the window choose shortcut and it will either ask that a shortcut be put on the desktop or it will create a second entry that you can click on and drag it and drop it to your desktop.
