my cd rom is not working and i have installed vista earlier, so i wanna remove it and install xp and linux(redhat).

Try using A ThumDrive.
Making a thumdrive bootable

but not shure about copying the install cd contents to a flashdrive. as some bootable cds have a very custom boot instructions.

Making a bootable flash drive is one thing...trying to get XP to install on it is quite something else.

Use the same tutorial for installing vista and xp on a computer with no floppy od cd support...Read the tutorial ....link on the side of the page

Here's the solution go and replace your cdrom drive, they can be purchased for less than $10.00 for a generic oem brand.

Your wasting your time, and mine trying to cobble a solution together without one...
