One of the most common grouses PC users come across while using an anti-virus application is real-time virus scans also tend to have a bearing on the performance of applications running on the PC. So, in order to avoid such an issue, it would be highly recommended if users were to go ahead and create exclusion paths in McAfee Anti-Virus software. Doing so in order to ensure the program ends up skipping the designated programs and associated directories while a virus scan is still in progress.
Steps to exclude paths in McAfee Antivirus
Step 1: Access the McAfee Antivirus program and select the ‘VirusScan’ Console
Step 2: Next, go ahead and make a right-click on the ‘On-Access Scan’ menu option. Once done, select the ‘Properties’ tab through a left click.
Step 3: In the next step select ‘All Processes —> Detection —> Exclusions’ menu option and further click on the ‘Add’ menu button
Step 4: In the penultimate step navigate to the files and folder you want an exclusion path for. Check the option ‘Also Exclude Subfolders’. Next ‘Click OK’ when done with and exit the McAfee antivirus application for completing the whole exclusion path process.
