How to save all the drivers before reformat Save all your driver's before reformatting your windows PC. Driver Collector is a handy tool which finds and collects the installed driver files for the hardware you select on your PC. After it collects the files, the program copies to your hard drive, in a specific folder. Download Driver Collector here http://www.syschat.com/images/attach...rcollector.jpg |

I already installed driver collector and already copied all the but where it was placed by driver collector? How can I reinstall it after formatting drive c? Please help. |
They are put in C:\Driver Collector by default. Just copy that folder to a removable media like a cd or thumb drive and the use it to re-install the drivers after format and OS install. |
I used this program last weekend. It worked great for one device (on board video) but the other 2 (sound and modem) did not work due to not being able to find the proper .dll file. Any suggestions on that? |
I already have the drivers saved but after reformat of my pc from vista to xp, how can I return all the saved drivers back to my reformatted pc? It has no sound right now. When I open each folder of drivers that I save, there is no setup program. |
If you have the driver files you can install them manually. Go into the device manager and remove the sound devices (may say unkown). Then reboot the computer. As the computer is rebooting an install new hardware wizard should appear if Windows detects the new hardware using this wizard you should be able to point Windows to the folder containing your drivers either on the CD, diskette, or the folder containing the files you downloaded. --This is assuming you downloaded the XP drivers for your system. Vista drivers will not work for XP.-- |
I've dowloaded and clicked 'copy files' but all that happens is that the message'finding files' appears at the bottom with a line of fast moving dots that run forever. Nothing seems to get found? Clicking ' ? ' stops the galloping dots but does not bring up any help page. |
