Entries in the Add or Remove Programs listing may sometimes be difficult to removed when you uninstall a program. This may be through poorly programmed uninstallers or incomplete uninstallations. Follow these steps to manually remove the orphaned entries from the Add or Remove Programs applet:
First, Click to Start menu. Then click Run and key in regedit.exe. Go across to the following key -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Current Version \ Uninstall.
Next, duplicate the branch to a file. Always remember that a single sub key corresponds to a program that you have installed. Click the key to determine which program that each of them represents, and then view the Display Name value data in the right pane. Afterwards, choose the sub key that you want to delete. Then Right-click on the sub key and choose Delete. Finally, close Registry Editor
You may use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility that is usually installed with your MS Windows OS. However, you may need the MS Windows OS installation CD to remove the installer information for the aforementioned application, and also the corresponding entry in Add or Remove programs should also be deleted from your system.
