Microsoft outlook is widely used for accessing emails. One of the common problems that people are facing these days using Microsoft Outlook 2007 is that they are facing some problem in downloading the mails. For example it takes nearly an hour to download a small email of size 1 MB.
Microsoft says that the main cause for this problem is that one of the network hardware devices (router etc) is not compatible with the scaling of the TCP window size.
Now the solution for this problem can be to disable the auto tuning feature which can solve this problem. The following steps will guide you how to disable the same.
Step 1: Click on Start then select to accessories.
Step 2: Right click on the command prompt and select the option “Run as administrator”.
Step 3: Select continue at the “User Access Control” prompt.
Step 4: Enter the following command in the command prompt
"netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled"
Step 5: Exit the command prompt by typing in exit.
It is just a temporary solution for the problem but Microsoft recommends to find out exactly in which device does the problem lies and then replacing the same and then reactivating the settings for better performance.
