Windows Operating Systems have never allowed you to check (mark) the items in any Windows Explorer. But Windows 7 allows you to get this feature activated and this is indeed interesting.
We usually use CTRL + SHIFT keys to select multiple items. Regardless you like it or not, Windows 7 allow you to enable checkboxes so that you can select or deselect items easily.
You might not always like to hold the CTRL + SHIFT keys to select items. Below are the steps to enable checkboxes for selecting items in Windows 7:
Step 1: Click on the START button and type "Folders Options" in the search field.
Step 2: Now in the Folder Options, click on the VIEW tab.
Step 3: Here, look for the Advanced Folders Options and select the option labeled as "Use Check Boxes To Select Items"
Step 4: Click on APPLY and OK buttons.
That is all.
You can even select the items by clicking on CHECK BOXES. This feature can also be used to enable checkboxes in Windows Vista too. This is a better way to select times once you enable checkboxes.
