hello i'm computer stupid as you can tell by mine name .
how can install a usb c-rom to a ctl laptop no operating system yet ? operating system will be xp pro if i can get to work . a freind wipe harddrive off

You will need to enter your bios and find the boot order. Attempt to make the first device external device or usb device or something to that effect. If there is no option resembling this, then you CANNOT use an external cd drive to install an OS. If this is the case, try the tutorial:
