how do i get files from a hard drive i have,the computer bit the dust so i removed the hard drive. The os on it is windows 2000 pro,tried to hook up drive to this computer,but all i see at start up is the windows 2000 screen for a second then it goes to a error message. do i need a boot disk for it? Can anyone help with this? Thank you !

Mount the old (windows 2000 pro) drive as a secondary/slave drive.

You need to change the jumper settings on hard disk to slave.



After your done once you reboot your computer you should see the second drive mounted as D: or E: depending upon your configuration.
