How many times have downloaded files from the Internet? Probably often. For work, hobby, passion, etc. Wouldn't it be nice to know if the file you're downloading has a virus even before they reach our computer?
Here
Dr.Web LinkChecker, an add-on for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera that lets you scan to see if the files contain viruses before downloading from the Internet.
The plug-in for Firefox also scans links also inside mail messages and emails that are downloaded from Mozilla Thunderbird.
Once installed the plug-ins for your favorite browser, you can start using it. Remember that it has a limit of 12Mb, that means you cannot scan something greater than 12MB.
To scan a link or a file, simply select it with the right mouse button, click on the scan option and wait for the result.
Also remember that even
AVG LinkScanner scans similar to that of Dr.Web and is also capable of giving us useful information about what we are about to download. It is free and you can download and install it immediately.
