How to add color guide to Windows 7 media center program guide?

Television on computer is the latest trend these days. Windows 7 media center is the utility which enables us to view our favorite channels on our personal computers. Today we will see how to add color schemes on to the media center program guide.

Now let us understand what this color guide is like. It is like coloring your each channel with a different one. The following steps will tell you how to do that:

Step 1: Open up the media center.

Step 2: Go to the tasks tab and select settings.

Step 3: Now click on TV.

Step 4: Select Guide option.

Step 5: Now select the Guide Page Options.

Step 6: Check the box which says “Apply colored backgrounds to show, based on their category”

Now when you try opening the channel guide then you can see the program guide to be nicely colored. The media center has some pre defined colors for the category of the channels.

Purple - Movies
Dark Blue - Sports
Light Blue - Kids Shows
Orange/Brown - Specials
Green - News
