How's it goin, i have a 2.4 core duo cpu on a dell xps410 btx mobo \ =( i know not what i should have spent my money on, But i bought the required cooling system for my cpu because i believe i can overclock this thing to 3ghz with the cooling...now my problem is..o yeah i have vista btw....my problem is i CANT get into bios to configure the speed settings...i can get into setup and boot order and things like that..when i boot, i can hit f2 for setup and f12 for boot menu...how the hell can i get into the bios for changing speeds\volts and such. Thanks

f8 and delete are the most common bios keys.

Not all processors can overclock by software, and simple power management. Be careful not to go too high to fast if it is possible.

I tried that and nothing happens with f8 or delete all that happens is when i press f2 or f12 and f2 is setup menu where i can NOT change any speeds of anything and f12 is the boot menu, anything else???

what type of mobo and bios do you have (company and version if possible).

Not all hardware supports what you are trying to do.

sorry this kinda falls into both categories ya know? i have a btx dell xps410\dimension 9200 mother board...thats all the info i can get about , the bios is ahci phoenix tech.. ive heard lots about overclocking this cpu and thats all i want to do and its starting to seem impossible..ive used some soft overclockers but there not working plus i hear there alot less stable.. This is driving me insane considering im just looking to get up to around 2.67 ghz from 2.4

The Dell XPS 410 does not support overclocking in the BIOS.

To get into the BIOS setup, follow these steps.

Documentation
1. Turn on (or restart) your computer.

2. When the blue DELL™ logo is displayed, watch for the F2 prompt to appear.

3. Once the F2 prompt appears, press <F2> immediately.

NOTE: The F2 prompt indicates that the keyboard has initialized. If you press <F2> before you are prompted, the keystroke will be lost.

4. If you wait too long and the operating system logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Microsoft® Windows® desktop, then shut down your computer (see Turning Off Your Computer) and try again.

If you open it up and get the Mfg. and model of the motherboard you may be able to find some information searching for dell + motherboard model in search.
