Has the Aquistion of ATI Helped AMD vs intel

Graphics acceleration is no longer limited to gamers.
For example, the new version of Microsoft Vista contains advanced features called “Aero� that demand more than the standard video frame can give.

Your probably aware that Intel is still the leader in the chip market but that as recently as July of this year, AMD bought the #2 graphics card makers, ATI. AMD hopes the synergy of the two companies working together will give it an edge over Intel.
If ATI's claims are true, it now has the worlds fastest graphic card, called the Radeon X1950 XTX.
