Which is the best anti virus that u can prefer to get rid of my messenger virus? The problem is that whenever i opens my yahoo messenger it keeps logged in as "available" status and after some minutes some status comes and automatically pops out some **** sites and links to all my friends.Please help me to ge rid of this situation.

Go here and get Symantec's standalone removal tool for W32.Bropia.J is a worm that propagates using MSN Messenger and drops a variant of W32.Spybot.Worm. on your computer...

Method 1:

Windows XP Home

1. Click Start-> Settings -> Control Panel
2. Click Performance and Maintenance
3. Click Administrative Tools
4. Double-click Services
5. Scroll down and highlight Messenger
6. Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties
7. Click the STOP button
8. Select Disable or Manual in the Startup Type scroll bar
9. Click OK

When you have an inkling that you have been invaded by a virus, close all programs as best you an, then startup sysclean...

A DOS window will open, follow the instructions. You will note hundreds of codes installing...ignore that...The whole process may take an hour or so, so be ready for it.

I run sysclean once a month for good measure.

Hi friends
I've a problem with my system I donno why the image icons on the desktop such as my computer,my documents,mozilla firefox,google chrome and all are changed
such that they are virus effected.
But when i scan them I found no virus and currently I'm using kaspersky which is outdated but working
can anyone solve my problem.........

If you are using an outdated version of Kapersky, that could be the reason you are not being protected, A/V programs MUST be kept up to date in order to prevent 99.9% of virus, trojans and malware from getting into your system. Once they are there, they are a pain to remove.

I would use one of the free home user AV programs like aVast or AVG Free.

I use both on a couple different comps and they work fine, scan regularly and update daily.
