Do you get frustrated whenever you use the Microsoft Office program and they keep on changing the email addresses and web addresses that you type into hyperlinks? If you are one of those people, then read on.
It is the AutoCorrect feature at work whenever this happens. It automatically transforms email and web addresses that it detects into a hyperlink, to supposedly save you time into manually setting it up. Well, it is ok if you need those addresses that way, but if not, then the frustration starts to build up.
To remove the hyperlink right after it transforms into one, just click on the Undo button, or press Ctrl+Z. Or you can right click on the hyperlink then select Remove hyperlink from the pop up window.
To be able to turn this feature off, which is usually available in the newer versions of MS Office Suite,
Then go to Tools, then AutoCorrect Options,
Then select the tab for AutoFormat as you Type.
Uncheck the Internet and Network Paths with Hyperlinks option.
Then click Ok.
And you are all set to continue doing your document, without the added frustration of automatic hyperlink transformation.
