Default Foxit Reader 2.2 and Foxit Editor

1 ... Foxit Reader 2.2 was downloaded and it had an Icon on Desk Top.
2 ... It also had an entry in the Add/Remove file.
3 ... A few days later downloaded the Foxit Editor.
4 ... Foxit Editor too has a short cut Icon on Desk Top and an entry in Add/Remove.
5 ... But the entry of Foxit Reader in Add/Remove has vanished though the short cut Icon on Desk Top is visible.
6 ... Downloaded Foxit Reader, again, and the Installer said the installation was 'successful'.
7 ... But there is not short cut Icon on Desk Top and there is no entry in the Add/Remove.
How is this possible for a program to be downloaded and installed, successfuly too, and not have an entry in Add/Remove section?

Entries in the Add/Remove programs list are optional and are put there by software vendors that choose to do so.

Some software is smart enough to know about their other softwares installed and can control them from a single add/remove slot. When this is the case usually when you click the remove button you will get a window with more options. Like, remove- reinstall- and modify are typical.

It sounds like this may be what you are seeing. Also there is often an uninstall entry in the programs folder or start menu group.
