Error using Windows Media Player 11
 

I am running XP Home Edition SP3 and WMP ver. 11.0.5721.5145

All of my files open correctly, but anytime WMP is in use I recieve a message stating "Windows Media PLayer has encountered a problem and needs to close...."
The file continues to play in the background until I click on the option to either "Send Error Report" or "Don't Send [error repot]" (to microsoft.)
I generally move the box out of the way, but it's been happening for several months now and it's getting on my nerves.
I've trying uninstalling/reinstalling, running error scans for malware and registry error and I can't find anything. Please help put an end to the madness!

Hello, try downloading the latest updates from Microsoft and then reinstall media player.

I find windows media player 10 a better option. No madness there.
