receive email with a PPS file but when i click open i receive this messenger
[[ this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. create an association in the SET ASSOCIATIONS control panel ]].

I'am running windows Vista home premium sp1 and i can't find the Set Associations control panel.

You need to have an office program with power point application installed.
If not then you can download the M$ powerpoint viewer application that will only allow you to read the files as they are shown.

downloaded the microsoft powerpoint viewer , no problems, but now it still asks for a file. as the email only contains the attachment with the pps extension i still can't view this attachment//

download the attachment to your desktop. Then click on it and select to always open these types of files with the powerpoint viewer.
