Browse to
PDFescape.com, you will be asked if you want to start right-away without registration, or register for free, and enable you to save and share PDF files in the future). For purposes of this quick tutorial, we choose to start without registration.
You are given the option for (1) uploading a PDF file from your computer, or (2) loading the PDF from an online link.
If you have previously registered for a free account, you can choose to load your saved PDF files from your PDFescape.com account.
Take note that PDFEscape supports up to 10MB PDF file sizes. In retrospect, PDF files are meant to be optimized and compact. The 10MB PDF file size limit is usually sufficient for most documents and files.
The PDFescape control panels appear as soon as the PDF file is loaded.
Notice the familiar view which resembles that of PDF readers.
The top left menus give options for editing and adding Text, Images, Links, Interactve Form Fields, Lines and Erasures.
For this sample PDF, we will add a descriptive text title, include a sample company logo that is linked to the sample company website.
Click on the
Text icon on the left control panel. Notice that the mouse changes to a text cursor. Click anywhere in the document to start typing.
Notice the text formatting toolbar above. You can choose diffent font sizes, styles, and colors. If you change your mind and would like to remove the text, simply click on the
Delbutton.
To insert the image of our sample company logo, click on the
Image button. You will be asked to locate the saved image on your computer. Choose and upload the image of your choice.
As soon as the image is uploaded, click on a point in the document where you want the image to appear. You can move and resize the image in the pdf. Click the mouse button again if you wish to insert a second copy of the image. Click the
Del button if you wish to cancel inserting an image.
Next, we will link the uploaded image company logo to our sample company website. Click on the
Link button.
Click a point in the PDF file that you would like to be “clickable” so that it points to a URL or a page in the PDF. The highlight shows the area that will be made clickable. Adjust the size of this link area to the picture or text in your PDF.
If you have previously registered for a free PDFescape.com account, click on the
Save button so that changes to your PDF files are saved in your account.
Click on the
Save and Download PDF button to download your edited PDF to your computer.
We can test with various PDF reader programs if our edited PDF is indeed a success.

Registered PDFescape users can share a read-only copy of a PDF document in their account with other users via a simple link.
If the document has sharing enabled, anyone with this link can view (but not change), download, and print a copy of the document in its current state. Sharing can be turned on and off using the "Share" button on the top of the PDFescape user interface.
