dvd /cd drive damaged
 

I AM HAVING TOSHIBA SATELLITE 2400 LAPTOP AND INTERNAL DVD/CD-R DEIVE PART NO. SD C-2502.. THE DVD DRIVE HAS BEEN DAMAGED i.e. FAILED TO READ THE DVDS AND CDS, THUS I COULD NOT INSTAL WINDOWS AND WHENI TRIED TO PURCHASE NEW ONE I COULD NOT LOCATE THE SITE TO PURCHASDE ONLINE..
SINCE MY FLOPPY DRIVE IS WORKING, KINDLY LET ME KNOW HOW TO INSTAL WINDOWS XP WITHOUT DVD/CD DRIVE, SINCE MY EXTERNAL DVD WRITER ALSO FAILED TO INSTAL WINDOWS

I'm searching for a way to install on a Compaq Nx9010 thru external usb dvd-rom.
Internal Cd drive failed windows cant reached replaced internal cd drive.

Next time post to a new thread and not hijack someone else's.

Your computer must support USB booting to install from a USB drive. In the BIOS (set-up) check to see if the boot options allow you to use a USB drive as a first boot option. If so change and save the configuration and then boot to the installation disc in the USB drive!
